She is officially ours!!!!

After a wonderful first night with Olivia we went back to the Civil Affairs Office the next morning where we made our adoption final with the Chinese government. As you can see by the picture...Olivia was less than thrilled! She slept thru it!

First full day with Olivia!!

I must say that June 6, 2004 had to be one of the most memorable days in my life. Next to my wedding day, and the birth of my other two children, the day was just absolutely a day I will never forget! We were very blessed with a baby who never cried once! When the nanny handed her to me her little arms and legs were just flying everywhere! She was smiling and laughing! She looked at her daddy and I as if she were saying "What took you so long?" She took right to both of us. As a matter of fact...and I know this sounds awful, but I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot that Craig was waiting very patiently to hold his baby girl! I turned around and it was like " Oh, would you like to hold your daughter?" She took to Craig right away! She was laughing and touching his face and looking at him as if to say " My daddy is sooooo silly!!" Everything was such a blur after that! We handed the director our envelope of money and gifts and they were out the door!! It was finally time for us to go back to the hotel and look our girl over!!
Once we got back to the hotel we were able to check our girl over. She was dressed in a yellow onsie with a pair of white and light blue pants. She was also barefoot. The orphanage was 3.5 hours away so the babies were a bit dirty from crawling around on the bus floor!
